Dr Charles McDonald
A PhD-qualified perfusionist with more than 30 years of dedicated experience in cardiothoracic surgery, cardiopulmonary bypass and ECMO at The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane — one of Australia's leading cardiac centres. His expertise spans intraoperative blood conservation, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and advanced mechanical circulatory support. He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications in extracorporeal circulation and has held executive board roles within the Australian and New Zealand College of Perfusion.
